5TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY - BALI 2010

Our 5th year anniversary celebration was in the form of a trip for 2 at Bali. He went there in 2001 and I went in 2003. So this is our first trip as a married couple. We had a great 4 days stay at Hard Rock Hotel. I stayed there during my first visit and I would say the room looked sort of run down. We pretty much preferred the room layout at Hard Rock Pattaya. Nevertheless, we love the surroundings and facilities at Hard Rock Bali. Kuta Beach was in front of us and the location was so accessible.

Day 1 - We boarded on our national carrier in the morning and landed in less than 3 hours. We managed to settle in the room before the stated check in timing. We sorted our stuff in the room, get changed, familiarized with the hotel area and roamed the Kuta district. We were perspiring under the scotching sun but that didn’t jeopardize our expedition. We made our way to Bubba Gump & Shrimps Co for our late lunch cum early dinner and bought some memento. We walked back and grabbed some souvenirs from the megastore. Back in hotel, we showered and went down to the center stage for some drink and light snacks and enjoyed the live band before ending the day.

Day 2 – We had breakfast at the hotel and hit the pool right after. I really like their different types of pools, chill out pool, beach pool, jacuzzi and splash. After wash up, we went to Krisna for some local shopping. We headed to Uluwatu Cliff Temple and watched the Kecak and Fire Dance performance. We summed up the day, with a nice seafood barbeque dinner by the beach side of Jimbaran Bay.

Day 3 – We combed the kuta district again after breakfast and bought some keepsake items. We shopped for more hard rock labels at the rock shop and stopped by starbucks to quench our thirst. Back to the room, we slowly packed and cleaned up before waiting for the time for our spa. Our foot massage, body massage, body scrub and flower bath was held at Abian Srama. After a good 3 hours, we had dinner at Abian Boga with the companion of Legong Dance performance. We were too shagged to head down for some relaxation at the restaurant and ended up hibernating in the comfort of our room.

Day 4 – We woke up much earlier than the previous days and had our last breakfast. We took a stroll at Kuta beach and value the breeze and ambience. Back to the hotel for the final packing and dressed to make way to the airport. I said, “ Home Sweet Home!” and he said,”Back To Reality!”

We truly cherish the moment we had together. We were glad that we were able to spare the time and sacrifices to beautify the relationship and for the future. It’s a rare opportunity for us to travel as a couple and deeply appreciate the support from our parents. We needed this break after so much of hard work and believe this is a well deserved treat for us. 4 days stay at Bali wasn’t enough as there were other places we have yet to venture. The man plan to make a comeback but I’m secretly aiming for Lombok as the next anniversary trip!
