ADRIANA VIRGIN EXPEDITION

The day was Friday, 17 april, and the 6 of us at home. Usually the twins will be sleeping with us in our room and the other two will be sleeping in Adriana’s room. On that day, Adriana and Aqil were already asleep whereas Alhan and Aryan were still awake and the daddy was entertaining them in the living room. I just felt like sleeping with Adriana on her bed and Aqil was sleeping on the mattress. It was during the wee hours, I could feel her body was hot. I put on the kool fever on her forehead and fed her with paracetamol. Well, mother instinct I must say! The next day, Saturday, 18 april, my family paid a visit. She was still unwell and slept most of the time after given her the medicine. My family left around 10pm+ after which I cleaned up the kitchen. She suddenly woke up and cried. I went over and could felt that she was very hot. As I was hugging her, I felt that she was shivering. I wasted no time and grabbed her birth cert. I called my 1st sister who live few blocks away, but no answered. I had to call my 2nd sister for help, and she made a u-turn to look after my 3 boys. The man was cleaning his car downstairs so I just took my bag and carried Adriana. We reached KKH at 2315hrs. It was our first time heading there and we weren't sure how the procedure was like. Our number was flashed and basic routine was conducted. Her temperature was 40.1 degree and her weight was 10.5kg. Done with the registration and we waited to be called. While waiting, she was given paracetamol. There were quite a number of kids and mostly wore the kool fever. It broke my heart to see infants crying in pain. We went in at 2345hrs and checked her temperature was 39 degree. She was put on observation and she was given glucose to drink every 15 mins. She completed that at 0130hrs and we went back to the room. Phew, her temperature has reduced to 37 degree so no admission for her! She was given a rest till Tuesday, 21 april. We collected her medicine and reached home at 0230hrs. At home, Sis Julie told me that the usual sleepy Alhan was while awake. The active Aryan was sleeping soundly. I carried and breastfeed him and off he went to his dreamland. The poor boy must miss me. No more fever for her now but her coughing is still there. We decided not to send her to school for this week and it’s best for her to be fully recover. The man took leave and continued with the off days so he was available for this whole week. It was challenging for us to handle a sick toddler, an active toddler and 2 milk sucking infants!
