HONGKONG DAY 1 & 2

DAY 1

We hoped on our national carrier, Boering-777 airplane. It was a 3 hours and 40 mins flight on SQ890 at 7.35am. We landed safetely at Hong Kong International Airport at 12.15pm. Upon our arrival we took the airport express railway and alighted at Kowloon. From there we took a cab and checked in our hotel. Novotel Nathan Road Hotel is located at Kowloon district and along the stretch of Nathan Road.Tthe nearest MTR is Jordan station which is about 5 minutes walking distance and Temple Street Night Market is just nearby.

After checking in, we walked to the MTR and purchased the octopus card. The card is very useful for travelling. We alighted at Tsim Sha Tsui station which is just 1 station away and walked to Avenue of Stars. Harbour City Mall is just besides it and there’s where the first shopping began. By then we were hungry and decided to hail a cab to Lung Kong Road where the Islam Food is. All these are within the Kowloon area. As the evening approached, everyone were tired so again we took a cab back to our hotel. Suddenly the eldest son vomited when we were at the lobby and when we were in the room, he vomited again. Thankfully we brought medication along and made him rest as much as possible. This made us to reshuffle our itinerary and that’s a sign for us to call for a day.

DAY 2

We were glad that the boy was well and our schedule went on accordingly. We took the MTR from Jordan to Tsim Sha Tsui and walked to Star Ferry’s Victoria Harbour. We took the ferry to Central Hongkong Island. Once arrived, we took bus No 15 at Central Pier Bus Station and it straight reached the Victoria Peak. First we went up the Sky Terrace and after that the children complained that we were hungry so we made a pit stop at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. After filling up their tummies, we stepped into Madame Tussauds. I purchased the tickets in advance and got a good deal online. After the fun, we dropped by at Hard Rock before taking the peam tram back. We boarded the bus again to get to the central pier for the ferry ride. Once we reached Tshim Sha Tsui, we took the MTR and alighted at Mongkok station which is just 3 stations ahead. That’s where Ladies Market located and we had good buys over there. From there, we took the MTR again and stopped at Jordan station, just 2 stations below, where Temple Street Night Market is. It was another round of cheap shopping before walking back to our hotel.
