Term 1 is over and March school holiday has started. We had in mind for educational and fun outings with the children. First of all, I must make sure the 2 students had completed their school homework and assignments and got their uniforms ironed and shoes washed.
It was the kids’ virgin trip to Night Safari. This means will be a night out for them. The kids rarely had night out except to grandparents or relatives houses. So I made a number of preparation to make this journey a smooth one. We made sure they had a good nap and their tummies were full. We packed own food with the likes of biscuits, titbits, chicken nuggets and fish fingers and complete with 6 bottles of drinks. We reached at 7pm and by the time we walked in; we were in time for the Creatures of the Night Show that began at 7.30pm. We sat in front so that the kids had a good view of the animals coming out. Then we took the tram to roam the area and due to no flash photography were allowed, we couldn’t capture clear photos. The kids’ mouths were wide opened when they were up close with the animals. They kept pointing here and there all feeling the excitement. At 9pm, we watched the Cultural Performances. It was the fire-eating, acrobatic and roaring Thumbuakar. It was a specular and entertaining display of ethnic dances, scorching stunts and blowpipe demonstrations. Done with the photo taking, we sat down and ate. We spent a good 3.5 hours there before reaching home at 11pm. The reason behind no flash photography or flashlight to prevent any disturbance or annoyance to the animals resulting from the emission of the bright lights. But we are still keen to bring them to River Safari which will be opening end of this year.
