The day that all Primary 1 parents feelings were filled with nervousness and excitement. This year mark the journey of primary school education for the 2005 babies. With the preparation made in advance and having pre talk with the first born; Adriana is all set and enthusiastic. On the other hand, I was worried on her welfare at school. Like a paranoid mother, I was worried about her being bullied by the bigger size or senior because of her petite size. I was curious whether she knows how to buy food and drink at the canteen.
Both of us were present to give Adriana and Aqil our full moral support. Thank you to my company for the first day of school leave, I got 2 of it, each for Adriana’s P1 and Aqil’s Nursery. On the 1st day we sent her to the school hall and after which we attended the talk conducted by the school. Then at 10.30am, it was her recess time. I was pleased with her buddy because she is bigger in size and can protect Adriana. I was holding back my tears as I saw her lining up to buy her food. I was all teary when she sat down and finished up her food. On the 2nd day, we went to school on foot. The husband said it’s a morning exercise for us. I carried her to the school hall and kissed all over her face. She is still my baby and can’t believe that she’s in Primary 1 now. We came back again for her recess time. Her buddy is such a sweet girl and she really takes care of Adriana. Her mother came as well despite she is in Primary 5 now. We fetched her at 1.30pm and proceed to fetch Aqil who ended at 2pm. On the 3rd day, we walked to school again, a merely 10 minutes walk. During recess, I gave her buddy a box of chocolate as a token of appreciation and I know I can rest assure that Adriana is in good hands. So today, the 4th day of school, I sent her until the gate and she walked into the school by herself. I forced myself not return during recess as I know she will be alright, but my mind still thinking how is she doing. Today her sweet buddy gave her some cookies and a note of encouragement. This is girl of mine did extremely well and signs of readiness. Did I mention that her uniforms seem to be big for her despite it was the smallest size. I'm not surprised if she will fit in that for a few more years. There you go, my daughter, you are on your own now. Study smart and at the same time, have a great 6 years of education
