The 3 days of holiday started with a bang. It was an opportunity not to be missed! On Thursday night itself, I already ironed my following week of clothing and the girl’s uniforms. The husband was on night shift and I had a slumber party with the 4 kids at home!
On Friday, I felt like I was possessed by a super nanny. I cooked, did the laundry, mopped and vacuumed the entire house, washed all the bed sheets, changed the bed sheets, cleaned the kitchen, scrubbed the toilets and hanged the carpets out in the sun. I couldn’t believe it either on how I managed to do all the chores at expands of a sleeping husband and 4 toddlers roaming around. Thankfully for Disney playhouse channel that made them glued to it.
Saturday was my rest day and seriously no chores at all. The husband bathed the kids and gets them dressed and after that he sent the girl to her phonics class and bought breakfast. He brought the boy along when fetching the girl and returned home with 2 kites and chicken rice for lunch. According to the husband, the girl and boy chose their own kites and they picked their favourite colours, pink and blue respectively. The kids had their afternoon nap and so do I had a good 4 hours nap. We got ready and headed nearby our hometown.
It was our first attempt of kite flying. The kids were very excited especially Adriana and Aqil who wanted to hold on the spool themselves. Alhan and Aryan were enchanted by all the kites flying up in the sky. Aqil did well after some guidance but I’m impressed with Adriana on how she navigates her kite to fly high up on her own. She actually ran as she was holding on to the spool and knew when to let go of the string and reel it back. At first I was cheering on her but as she was running further and further away, I was almost freaked out. She ran almost to the other end of the field and I thought she would have gone onto the road if she was too engrossed! Indeed I was mesmerized by all the kites flying beautifully. I was quite amazed by the spirit of those who helped others who didn’t have a fine start. This family time not only creates bond and fun for the 6 of us but it makes the kids had an early night too!
