The first boy in the family turns 2 today. The boy that completes the family. The boy that the father crave for. The boy that ended the drought of another grandson.
We planned for his presence and therefore we were all prepared to welcome his arrival with open arms. Initially I lost hope of having a boy since coming for all girls siblings and there’s only 1 grandson out of 4 grandchildren in the family. Of course, God is Almigty and the creator. The father was elated when the gynae revealed the gender. As what he wished for, a son as his companion and a partner for male bonding. He is the luckiest about the 4 because he was on breast milk for the first 3 months and till he was 6 months old. I have learned from my first born experience and mistakes therefore I’m more familiarized and improve the techniques for handling a baby. Taking care of a girl is completely differ from a boy. The guilt of making him as an elder brother still lingers on my mind and I am trying my best to cater his needs. This boy of mine simply tests my level of patience and tolerance. He is rather mischievous and always has something up his sleeves. He always has his way to smooth our hearts with his cheeky smile and pitiful sight. His size maybe bigger than the sister and at times bullied her but I’m pleased that he has shown respect and listens to her instructions. He already sleeps on by himself at his own room at the age of 18 months. He’s consider a heavy drinker often quench his 180 ml of enfagrow. Overall, I must say he did well being a brother at the age of 13 months. This year, will be the first celebration for him at home with the family. Best of all, the dinner will be cooked by both the grandmothers with great love.
My dear Aqil, I’m sorry for not giving enough attention and care during your growing up stages. I’m sorry for giving you 2 brothers at such a young age. Looking ahead, I know you will make a fine brother and able to bond with them. To my son, happy 2nd birthday and you will always have special place in my heart...
